The Luchtkoe
or Air Cow as their affectionately known. (It's the dutch translation.... I looked it up on Babelfish)
The Luchtkoe wasn't originally a ground "bird." It was bred that way once the colonists of Icarus realized that they didn't have a reliable source of protein.
