So here are color tests for Seedlings #1. I like the way they turned out.

First piece of art on my new Cintiq
I've got Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator as well as Sketchbook Pro loaded up. And now my Cintiq is here. I just have to get used to the Cintiq and the newer version of Photoshop and Illustrator and I can get back to Seedlings.
Above is just a quick sketch I did on the new tablet.

Kid Squid
I can see this kid popping up in my Harijan world. A "finished" piece from my Surface Pro.
Mostly, I'm going to be using it to finish up my board game. I'm soooooo close to finishing it. I've already got a couple boards for people to try out Fairly soon I'll start a Kickstarter account so I fund getting it professionally made and sold.

I'm looking to sell my services.
Hi everyone, I find myself in a situation where I'm going to need to some new hardware, very soon. (It could also ease the burden of getting some Christmas presents for my girls, depending on what kind of response I get.) And the solution would be to sell some art. I've done some MOD portrait and some standard portraits of people in the past. You can see these both below. And I would love to do those for you.
What I'm asking is $20 for the black and white MOD or standard portrait, and $40 for color. These are all done digitally, so I'll send you the digital file. The file is large enough for hi resolution printing. A smaller file will be included that can be used for your profile picture. The dimensions of the file will be 8" x 10".
Payment would be easiest through Paypal to floatingislandstudios@gmail.com. You can also contact me through that address if you have any questions.
In addition to these, I've also done quite a few custom art pieces for people. Those are generally negotiated based on what's requested.

The Wonder of it all..... or at least some of it.
Trying out a new project. A lot of things in this world have been bugging me lately and so I'm going to try and put it into an illustration of sorts. It might be too ambitious, but I'll never know unless I try... and I have not been doing nearly enough of that. Well, anyway, here's the first rough sketch.

If you wait until you're ready, then you'll never get it done.
... or something of the sort. Basically, I'm forcing myself to draw Seedlings related things. I've been frozen for months now. Not sure where to go. Scared of what I might not be able to do. Scared that it might be "Too Much" at this point.... but I can't do it that way. My art is part of the healing. It's a way to focus my world into a stream. To follow the grain that I was meant to follow. And even though I'm afraid of it, I have to do it. So here's a tortured out sketch study of Fitzgerald from Seedlings. Not much, but it's a start.

My little tribute to Robin Williams
Over the years, Robin Williams gained mythic proportions in my mind. There was nothing he touched that didn't turn into gold. As I grew up and gained awareness of myself, I discovered that there were reasons I felt this kindred connection. We have both struggled mightily with mental illness and we have both tried to use our skills as entertainers to treat/share/hide/deal with it. (His career was just slightly more successful than mine.)
When I heard what happened, a part of me was crushed and broken, and still is at this point. To learn that someone who I identified so strongly with over the years was suddenly gone. Gone. And under those circumstances. That such a strong personality could just one day be gone........I felt like I was trapped under the weight of the entire ocean, with it's dark depths pressing in from all sides.... then I slowly realized something.
He wasn't gone.
He had left something behind.
One of Hunter's favorite movies was Robots and Robin Williams played the character Fender, who I drew above. Fender, like almost all of Robin Williams's characters elevated that movie. Helped it to transcend into another level.
We have his shows, movies, stand up and quotes. We have pieces of his soul that he ripped from his chest and shared with the world. His influence will continue to influence this world and make it brighter and happier because of it.

Inspired by Big Hero 6
Cecilia never quite understood why people were afraid of her. Sure, she was a giant snow spirit capable of unleashing blizzards that could cover half of the continent, but she was basically a good person.

Some mental cleansing
And this is what happens when you put an artist's tool in my hands when I can't sleep and have taken pain medication for my ankle.
